The star fire lay

A fire lay is how you set out your fire, how you structure it.  I’ve discussed the V Lay previously, which is how typically I light my fires.  Once lit there are often situations in which you want to then modify your fire for a particular purpose.

In this video I talk about the star fire lay and when I would typically use it as well as advantages and disadvantages.

We teach the star fire lay (as well as use it for the kettle) on our 1 Day Bushcraft Course, our as well as on our 2 Day & 5 Day Bushcraft Courses, the IOL Bushcraft Competency Course and also our 2 Day & 5 Day Survival Courses.

You can see plenty of photos from all of these courses on our Facebook page.
