Recently I’ve been working with greenwood and this often leaves a sticky residue behind on my knife. This is a common enough occurrence that I deal with routinely. So in this video I show how to clean a bushcraft knife from residue, although it could as easily be resin from a resinous conifer or indeed even rust.
We teach how to clean a bushcraft knife, as well as how to sharpen one on our 2 Day & 5 Day Bushcraft Courses and the IOL Bushcraft Competency Course
You can see photos from these courses, as well as all of our other courses, on our Facebook page.

Great article! Straightforward and practical advice on keeping your bushcraft knife clean, especially after tackling greenwood, resin, or rust. The video reference is a nice touch for visual learners. Essential maintenance tips that every bushcrafter should follow to protect their blade in the field. Thanks for the useful guide!
