Ramsons (Allium ursinum) are right at the top of my list of favourite wild foods and are a beginner level plant in terms of identification. With that said, there are a couple of plants that you need to be aware of when you’re foraging for ramsons, dog’s mercury (Mercurialis perrensis) and lords & ladies (Arum maculatum). Both of these plants commonly grow amongst the ramsons and both are toxic so it is worth geting to know them.
