Carving a spreader

Knife skills are incredibly important in bushcraft so I’m a big fan of practicing them as often as possible.  And a great little project to work on those knife skills is by carving a spreader.  There aren’t many knife cuts used, mostly a thumb push, but it’ll help hone those techniques.

When we have enough light in the evenings, we teach carving a spreader on our 2 Day & 5 Day Bushcraft Courses.

You can see plenty of photos from all of these courses on our Facebook page.
