I’m not a big fan of using leaves as tinder, they’re often damp, take a bit of work to ignite and often don’t produce much heat. But as we’re based in an ancient broadleaf woodland, and they’re everywhere, I thought I’d do a short video igniting leaves with a match and then using them as a tinder bundle.
Using leaves as tinder is something we teach on many of our courses, including our 1 Day, 2 Day and 5 Day Bushcraft Courses as well as the IOL Bushcraft Competency Award and Certificate.
