One handed fire lighting 1

This video was made when a few of us got together back in February to work on one handed fire lighting techniques. It accompanies an article that I wrote for issue 2 of The Bushcraft Journal.  The idea for the article was to try out simple and commonplace bushcraft tasks feigning an injury to my right hand.  With bushcraft being about skills and knowledge, my intention is to look at alternative methods, to think a little about how I do things and to broaden my bushcraft repertoire, which can only be a good thing.

Thanks to Dave, Peter, Dan & Helen for helping out.

One Handed Fire Lighting Techniques

It’s not just one handed fire lighting techniques that I’ve written about, we have put together other posts about fire lighting such as this one and also tinders.

You can view plenty of photos of people on our courses practicing these skills on our Facebook page.
