Jack by the Hedge & Dead Nettle Pakoras 1   Recently updated!


Pakoras are easy to make and absolutely delicious.  Give this simple recipe a try.

Ingredients

  • 200g of red dead nettles and Jack by the hedge, finely chopped
  • 100g of grated carrots
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 200g chickpea flower
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp of cumin
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • Vegetable oil

How to cook Jack by the hedge & dead nettle pakoras

  • Mix the chickpea flour with the seasoning and spices and then add water to make a paste
  • Combine the remaining ingredients and mix well
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a pan to shallow fry
  • Take a desert spoon of the mixture and add to the hot vegetable oil
  • Cook in small batches until all the mixture is used up
  • Fry the pakoras on both sides until golden brown
  • Drain on some kitchen roll and serve
