Looking for something different to the usual children’s parties?
For a special, never to be forgotten adventure, a visit to Jack Raven Bushcraft is something your child and their friends will cherish for years to come.
Whether it is a birthday, to celebrate finishing exams, or marking a milestone in your child’s life, we are able to provide a fun and educational outdoor party experience that they will remember for years to come.
Typically a children’s bushcraft party will involve den building and fire lighting. We will introduce the children to the importance of shelter and teach them how to build their own. For the fire lighting element, the children get to try out different ways to light a fire, from matches & lighters, batteries & wire wool, mirrors, lenses through to flint & steel and fire steels. They will then gather firewood, light a fire and use it to cook hot dogs and marshmallows.
We provide catering for the special day; in fact the kids love to cook their own sausages and marshmallows on a fire they have lit themselves!
Where do you hold the kids bushcraft parties?
We hold our birthday parties at our ancient woodland camp in Westwell, Kent, a few miles outside of Ashford and close to both the M2 and M20.
How long does it last?
We try to be flexible with the timings for birthday parties, we want the children to enjoy themselves and not feel rushed; they often overrun.
A half day party usually runs from 10am until 1pm (ish) or 1pm until 4pm or so.
How many friends can they bring?
Because we want your child and their friends to have a great adventure in a safe environment, we take a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 children on a party. A maximum of 2 adults can accompany the children.
Do I need to stay?
Yes, an adult needs to stay.
How much does it cost?
A half day birthday party with lunch is £25 per person attending (including accompanying adults).

If you are wondering what to do for your child's birthday and want to try something different, we strongly recommend Jack Raven's Bushcraft Birthday Party option. We had a lovely afternoon (and the weather was great!) on 29th June, with Joe as our guide (Willow joined us later :)). We started on time and the kids had a lot of fun in the forest, building a shelter and trying different ways to make fire. The food was also delicious! Thank you so much, we hope to come again soon!
Hi Gary, wanted to send you a little message to say a big thank you for Peggy-May's party yesterday. We all had such a great time and the children couldn't stop talkiing about what a fantastic time they had. Spending time with Peggy-May and the others in the woods and camp made us realise even more how valuable these experiences are so thank you for our day but also everything else you and Jack Raven does.
Our sons & friends had a great time building dens, trying out many different ways of fire lighting as well as enjoying the reward of hot dogs & roasted marshmallows. A fantastic set up in a beautiful part of the country with knowledgeable & patient leaders. The cherry on the top was the company of their friendly Labrador that all the boys took a shine too! You know a parties a success when you're asked if they can do the same next year.
My 8 year old daughter and her friends had a wonderful time at her bushcraft party. Trekking through the fields, den building, fire-lighting - they loved it all. It was great to do something a bit different and enjoy the great outdoors. Highly recommended!
Keeping a group of 8, 10-11 year olds engaged for 3 hours can't be easy but Kimberley was brilliant with them. They were really engaged throughout. Loved the different ways to make fire and den building. Paracord bracelet was a lovely memory to make and keep. Time for toasted marshmallows too. Not a gaming device in sight- happy days. Thank you
