Looking for something different to the usual children’s parties?
For a special, never to be forgotten occasion, a visit to Jack Raven Bushcraft is something your child and their friends will cherish for years to come.
Whether it is a birthday, to celebrate finishing exams, or marking a milestone in your child’s life, we are able to provide a fun and educational experience that they will remember for years to come.
Typically a bushcraft party will involve den building and fire lighting. We will introduce the children to the importance of shelter and get them to build their own. For the fire lighting elemnt the children get to try out different ways to light a fire, from matches & lighters, batteries & wire wool, mirrors, lenses through to flint & steel and fire steels. They will then gather firewood, light a fire and use it to cook hotdogs and marsh mallows.
We provide catering for the special day; in fact the kids love to cook their own sausages and marshmallows on a fire they have lit themselves!
Where do you hold the parties?
We hold our birthday parties at our ancient woodland camp in Westwell, Kent, a few miles outside of Ashford and close to both the M2 and M20.
How long does it last?
We try to be flexible with the timings for birthday parties, we want the children to enjoy themselves and not feel rushed; they often overrun.
A half day party usually runs from 10am until 1pm (ish) or 1pm until 4pm or so.
How many friends can they bring?
Because we want your child and their friends to have a great time in a safe environment, we take a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 8 children on a party. A maximum of 2 adults can accompany the children.
Do I need to stay?
Yes, an adult needs to stay.
How much does it cost?
A half day birthday party with lunch is £25 per person attending (including accompanying adults).

My 8 year old daughter and her friends had a wonderful time at her bushcraft party. Trekking through the fields, den building, fire-lighting - they loved it all. It was great to do something a bit different and enjoy the great outdoors. Highly recommended!
Keeping a group of 8, 10-11 year olds engaged for 3 hours can't be easy but Kimberley was brilliant with them. They were really engaged throughout. Loved the different ways to make fire and den building. Paracord bracelet was a lovely memory to make and keep. Time for toasted marshmallows too. Not a gaming device in sight- happy days. Thank you
We had a great afternoon. Nate really enjoyed himself and we all learnt something too! I'd definitely recommend to others.
Our party of outdoorsy boys aged 11-15 really enjoyed the day. Although they all had some experience with fire building and knife work, everybody learned lots more. It really was a full day and Gary gave each person individual attention so that they could develop their skills. The campfire lunch was greatly appreciated. The kids found Gary very friendly and approachable - they were able to ask him for help when they needed it. I think they respected the fact that he was understated and calm and really knew his stuff. Everybody was tired after a full day in the woods, so I wouldn't plan to do anything else after this! Would book again, definitely.

Aaron and his friends had the most fantastic birthday party. I can not recommend it highly enough. first time ever Aaron's asked if he could go to bed. Worn out but happy. Thanks to you all for making it a day to remember. We will defiantly be booking a family day later in the year. X
