Who’s it for?
Our 1 day autumn foraging course is for anyone who would like to know more about the edible fruits, nuts and berries of the British hedgerow and woodlands. So if you’re curious about the many wonderful berries and fruits that grow around you, and want to know which you can eat and which you need to avoid, come and join us!
What will I do?
For this 1 day autumn foraging course our focus is on the many fruits, nuts and berries found in the hedgerow and woodland. If you’re interested in the wonderful spring plants that nature has to offer, try our spring foraging course as well!
From the meeting point we’ll take an amble along the tranquil lanes of the stunning North Downs and look at common hedgerow fruits, berries and nuts that can be eaten; we’ll collect some as we go. We’ll also point out any berries that are poisonous as we go so you know what to avoid.
From the hedgerow we’ll move into ancient woodland and look at different plants, again collecting as we go.
When we arrive at our ancient woodland camp, we’ll have a refresher on the nuts, berries and fruits that we’ve collected before settling in for the afternoon and making various jams, jellies, cordials, ketchups and syrups.
You will be able to take away the things you have made, although there is a small additional charge to cover our costs for jars, and bottles etc..
By making a booking you confirm that you have read and agree to our Terms & Conditions.
